Arlington/Roe was founded in 1964 by Francis Roe, father of current President and owner, James A. Roe, and is respected nationwide as a Managing General Agent and Excess & Surplus Lines Broker.
Started initially as a general agent for mobile home and recreational vehicle insurance, Arlington/Roe has since expanded to include other Specialty Personal Lines, Commercial Property and Liability (Underwriting and Brokerage), Commercial Auto/Transportation, Aviation, Bonds, Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Medical Professional. Arlington/Roe is a true believer in the independent agency system.
For over 40 years, as a Wholesaler, we have been offering professional expertise, access to specialty and E & S markets, and have provided stability in changing markets. Our staff of 130+ individuals brings their combined experience using techniques of frequent triage sessions and constant communication to underwrite and market complex insurance transactions. Close to half of our staff either has a professional designation or is working towards a designation.
Arlington/Roe is a leader in the wholesale insurance community, with active involvement in the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA), National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO), Aviation Insurance Association (AIA), Surety Association of America (SAA), Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), CPCU, Society of CIC, National Association of Insurance Women, Independent Insurance Agents Association (BIG I), Professional Insurance Agents Association (PIA), and other industry organizations. James A. Roe was President of the American Association of Managing General Agents, 1999-2000.
Arlington/Roe is now a third generation family business with Jim Roe's oldest son, Andy, actively underwriting and producing business in our Commercial Underwriting practice, and 2nd oldest son Patrick in our Personal Lines Department.
